Author Lewis Grant describes a condition he calls, “Sunset fatigue,” end-of-the-day behaviors he says may indicate that an individual has been “infected” with hurry sickness. Here are some of the symptoms he has identified. Sound vaguely familiar?

  1. You notice that you’re rushing around at home, even when there’s no reason to. You catch yourself speaking harshly or with an abrasive tone to family members, for no apparent reason
  2. You notice that you hurry your children along, trying to quicken their pace to keep up with some schedule
  3. You tell yourself or your family that things will get less hectic ‘in a week or two,’ or ‘after such-and-such’ is over
  4. You engage in ‘escape’ behaviors, watching too much television, or other ‘checking out’ behaviors
  5. You frequently finish your day without a sense of accomplishment, wonder, gratitude; only exhaustion and fatigue

If those are your symptoms, working with a Christian physician coach can be very helpful. To explore that possibility, or for more no-obligation information about CMDA Coaching, visit the CMDA website: cmda.org/coaching.
