Tom A. Coburn, MD, was elected to the U.S. Senate on November 2, 2004. Dr. Coburn’s priorities in the Senate include reducing wasteful spending, protecting your liberty, balancing the budget, improving healthcare access and affordability, protecting the sanctity of all human life and representing traditional Oklahoma values. As a citizen legislator, Dr. Coburn has pledged to serve no more than two terms in the Senate and to continue to care for patients. Prior to his election to the Senate, Dr. Coburn represented Oklahoma's Second Congressional District in the House of Representatives from 1995 through 2001. He was first elected in 1994, then re-elected in 1996 and 1998, becoming the first Republican to hold the seat for consecutive terms. In 1970, Dr. Coburn graduated with an accounting degree from Oklahoma State University. From 1970 to 1978, Dr. Coburn served as manufacturing manager at the Ophthalmic Division of Coburn Optical Industries in Colonial Heights, Virginia. After the family business was sold, Dr. Coburn changed the course of his life by returning to school to become a physician, graduating from University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1983. Dr. Coburn is also a three-time cancer survivor. Dr. Coburn and his wife Carolyn, a graduate of Oklahoma State University and former Miss Oklahoma, were married in 1968 and have three children and seven grandchildren.

Casey Mattox, Esq., has more than a decade of legal experience defending religious freedom for student organizations, faith-based ministries and healthcare workers. He serves as senior counsel with the Alliance Defending Freedom Center for Life at its Washington, D.C., Regional Service Center. As senior counsel for the Life Litigation Team, he has also been active in defending the sanctity of life and holding the abortion industry accountable for its fraudulent use of taxpayer dollars. Prior to working for Alliance Defending Freedom, Casey litigated for the Christian Legal Society Center for Law and Religious Freedom. Upon graduating, he clerked for Justice Champ Lyons of the Alabama Supreme Court. He has a BA in government and history from the University of Virginia, and he received his JD from Boston College Law School in 2001. Casey is a member of the bar in Virginia; the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 7th, 9th and D.C. Circuits; and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the Northern District of Florida and the Eastern District of Michigan. He also serves on the board of directors for Christian Service Charities and Ratio Christi. He resides in Virginia with his wife and three children.
