Dr. Pat George has been President and CEO of the Valley Hope Association since July 2015 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2003. He has a long and distinguished career in business and public service. He was Kansas Commerce Secretary from 2010 to 2015 and served in the Kansas House of Representatives for six years. Mr. George has a 25-year track record of starting and building successful business ventures, from his family’s automobile dealership to real estate development to professional sports. Robert Bowers, MD

Dr. Robert Bowers has been a medical missionary for the last 40+ years working in six different countries on three continents. He graduated from Baylor Medical School and completed an internship in 1966 from Philadelphia General Hospital. After serving as the medical director for three years in Liberia, he completed a residency in general surgery from Geisinger Medical Center.  From 1974 to 1977, he was a missionary physician at Soddo Hospital in Ethiopia. Two weeks after arriving in Ethiopia, the Marxist revolution occurred. He was evacuated three years later after multiple house-arrests, harassments, burning of hospital medicines by agitators and more. He practiced for three years in the U.S. before becoming the medical director of Kijabe Medical Center, a large mission hospital in Kenya. From 2004 to 2012, he was the only surgeon for millions of people in Bangladesh.
